SEATTLE July 6, 2011 July 6-19th www.ParentingCounts.org/professionals
The goal of this dynamic and interactive program is to provide early learning professionals with the knowledge and skills to help parents and caregivers raise socially and emotionally healthy children. Talaris has dedicated the past year to developing the training, which takes the best of their videos and content, combined with the latest research on new topics.
Key features of the online training can be described as follows:
- Comprehensive
- Interactive
- Research Based
- Easy to use
- Practical
- Accessible
Katie Simons
The training is composed of 25 modules that focus on four pillars of development:
- Pillar One: Physical and Brain
- Pillar Two: Social and Emotional
- Pillar Three: Learning and Cognitive
- Pillar Four: Communication and Language
Professionals will learn how to understand the relevance of the four pillars of early learning, the relationship that each of the four pillars has with one another and will understand the core concepts and scientific research behind each pillar and the program. In addition, professionals will be able to explain the importance of early childhood development on child outcomes as well as what it means for a child to be socially and emotionally healthy. As advocates, professionals can then teach parents the importance of the core concepts and tools to increase their knowledge, confidence and positive parenting behavior.
